I'm a landscape photographer based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Over the last few years, landscape photography has become a core part of who I am, transforming the way I see the world and becoming my deepest passion. For a very long time, I was directionless and had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. When I picked up a camera, everything slowly but surely started to change.

 

To put it simply, photography is a vehicle to express myself and push my comfort zone. I used to spend my days writing code and exploring virtual worlds, oblivious to the very real and beautiful world around me. Through photography, I learned how to not only see the world, but how to experience it as well. My favourite season to experience and photograph is winter. To me it's the most beautiful, but I also love the cold and the challenges it brings. The farther the mercury plummets, the more excited I get and the more alive I feel. The harder I have to work for an image, the more attached to it I become. For me simply being outdoors, with or without my camera, is incredibly therapeutic and now I wouldn't ever want to live without it!

My goal with my images is not to strictly document the environment, but also to convey my experiences and feelings. To help achieve this, I use a variety of post-processing methods to create something that I can call my own. I'm also a firm believer in discovering new compositions and exploring the lesser known places. I don't expect anyone to like my work, but if I can inspire just one person like others inspired me, I would consider that an amazing accomplishment! Some of my biggest inspirations have been Marc Adamus, Max Rive, Ted Gore, Ryan Dyar, Enrico Fossati and Artur Stanisz. This is far from exhaustive, however, and many other photographers continue to inspire me with their work and dedication.

In September 2020 I quit my job to pursue this venture full time. I hope you enjoy following along, as I have exciting plans for the next few years that will continue to push my comfort zone and lead to new places.
